Offers for schools

We have developed four packages for schools. We've looked at the curriculum for pupils in years 2 to 10 and developed activities that fit the subject areas.
The activities last approximately 5 hours.

COMPETENCE OBJECTIVES: SOCIAL SCIENCES

After the 10th grade:

  • Reflect on similarities and differences in identities, lifestyles and cultural expressions in and outside Sápmi/Sábme/Saepmie and discuss the opportunities and challenges of diversity.

After the 7th grade:

  • Explore the main features of the history of the Sámi and national minorities in Norway and present the rights of the Sámi and national minorities in Norway today.

After the 4th grade:

  • Present the reasons why the Sami have indigenous status in Norway, and describe different forms of Sami cultural and social life past and present.

After the 2nd grade:

  • Describe and give examples of diversity in Norway, emphasising different family forms and ethnic groups, including the indigenous Sami people.

COMPETENCE OBJECTIVES: FOOD & HEALTH

After the 10th grade

  • Cook food from Norwegian and Sami culture and from other cultures and compare and explore ingredients and cooking methods used in different food cultures.

After the 7th grade

  • Create meals from different cultures and talk about and explore how socialising and interaction can help promote good health.

  • Explore and present traditional Norwegian and Sami methods of preserving food and talk about the raw materials that are preserved.

After the 4th grade

  • Conversation about meal customs from Norwegian and Sami culture and from other cultures, and about the value of eating together with others.

COMPETENCE OBJECTIVES: NATURAL SCIENCES

After the 10th grade:

  • Give examples of the Sami's traditional knowledge of nature and discuss how this knowledge can contribute to the sustainable management of nature.

After the 7th grade:

  • Provide examples of how traditional knowledge has contributed and continues to contribute to scientific knowledge.

After the 4th grade:

  • Participate in the harvesting and use of natural resources and discuss how natural resources can be used in a sustainable way.

COMPETENCY OBJECTIVES: ARTS AND CRAFTS

After the 10th grade

  • Analyse how identity and sense of place are communicated in architecture, clothing traditions, art or artefacts, and integrate cultural references in their own creative work.

After the 7th grade

  • Describe the diversity of clothing traditions or artefacts, including Sami, and create a product inspired by cultural heritage.

After the 4th grade

  • Explore how traditional crafts, including Sami crafts, utilise the properties of natural materials and use their experiences to create simple objects for use. everyday objects.

After the 2nd grade

  • Design and construct in natural materials inspired by Sami and local building practices.
